Tapeley
Christie Devon Estates takes its name from the Christie family which has had a historical association with North Devon since 1855.
At the heart of the estate is the Tapeley Park stately home and gardens, a place where the past and present sit side by side. Steeped in history, the house is home to Hector Christie, a passionate advocate of sustainability and organic farming techniques.
As a working estate, the Christie Devon Estates management team oversees a diverse portfolio of land and property in the region. It works with tenant farmers in the local area and a number of commercial businesses that rent estate property in North Devon.

Highland Cows
Among the animals at Tapeley Park there's a large pot bellied pig named Nigel and a herd of amazing Highland Cows. Martha, Hectors pride and joy, was hand reared from a calf and the two share an exceptional bond. With their long horns, and flowing red locks, these iconic animals are free to graze in the fields of Tapeley Park.

Italian Garden
The Tapeley Park grounds are renowned for their beautiful gardens, particularly the Italian terraces, and include a lake, ponds, old woodland and a number of fields where Tapeley’s herd of Highland cattle graze. As well as a sizeable organic vegetable garden, Tapeley Park has one of the oldest permaculture gardens in the UK. The terraces were designed by John Belcher and used in illustrations for the book The Formal Garden.
