About Hector

Hector Christie, a former farmer, is an Eton-aristocrat turned notorious ecoactivist. The eldest son of Sir George and Lady Patrica Christie, formley of Glyndebourne Opera House, Hector is the current current custodian of their Devon estate, Tapeley Park.

Hector was planning on a semi-professional foorball career when he broke his leg in an accident on the pitch. Hector received his initiation into the ‘hardcore’ protesting world at the G8 summit, where he dressed as a priest and sung songs at the speechless Italian riot police and was instrumental in leadng the fight against the mass culling of catte in the foot and mouth crisis in 2001.

Hector has gate crashed several parlimentry meetings held by Tony Blair and Gordon Brown to expressive his views, organised protests and supported eco-friendly initiviatives. Of all the stirs Christie has caused over the years, breaking into Rothamsted Research Centre, Hertfordshire in May 2012 to disrupt the first ever trial of GM wheat in the UK was the biggest.
